Hotels in Malta
If you have never visited this beautiful Mediterranean island before then it is
definitely somewhere you should consider for your next holiday abroad. It is conveniently
near yet with a pleasantly warm climate perfect for summer holidays and it does
not get really cold during winter either. It has a long history and is thought that
the first settlers arrived there over seven thousand years ago. Although on certain
sides of the island the beaches are rocky, you can easily find lovely sandy beaches
where you can relax and enjoy the weather. A flight from London to here only takes
about three hours and if you want to book your accommodation in advance, for a good
hotel Malta has many choices, with a wide range of prices and facilities. Our aim
is to make the booking process as simple as possible and offer you competitive prices
at all times of year. There are two nearby islands that complete the Maltese archipelago,
called Gozo and Comino which you could visit by boat if you fancy a trip during
your holiday. Being an island there are of course many opportunities to participate
in water sports such as windsurfing and riding on a jet ski. In the summer the sea
temperature is ideal for such activities, so you won’t get cold if you fall
off your jet ski. For luxury hotels Malta also has many to choose from and the prices
may surprise you. You can use the search facility on each page.
The main attractions
During the daytime, if you are not the type who wants to spend every day on the
beach or by the pool, there are many things to see and do here. If history is your
thing then you could visit the megalithic temples, which include the oldest freestanding
temple in the world. There is a medieval city called Mdina which boats an old moat
and fortified ramparts. From the top of these you can see great views of the surrounding
countryside and it is definitely one of the better Malta excursions that you can
go on. For a small island, it has many churches that you can explore and if you
get out of the main towns then there are some wonderful villages to see. The capital
city is Valletta, where you can go to museums and other places of interest. Being
the capital there are of course many opportunities to shop for souvenirs, clothes,
or anything else that you might want. At certain times of year there are also open
air concerts and carnivals that you can enjoy. If you want to base yourself in Valletta
for your holiday then the Hotel Excelsior Malta is a great choice. The rooms have
wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding city and there are lots of top class
facilities there. Valletta is the kind of city where you do not have to make specific
plans if you do not want to, you can just enjoy a pleasant stroll taking in the
sights.
Local facilities
When you visit a new country for the first time it can sometimes be a bit stressful
if you are not sure of the facilities that are going to be available there. Will
you be able to use your mobile phone for example and how good are the local hospitals?
To get to your hotel you can arrange a transfer Malta style. We can book these for
you in advance and private cars are used so you do not have to hang around the airport
waiting for other travellers to arrive, as you often have to do with minibus services.
The local currency is now the Euro so you should have no problems exchanging money
either before or after your holiday. If you take any electrical accessories with
you then you may need to buy an adaptor for the plugs but the electricity supply
is fine to use with UK appliances. To answer the earlier question about mobile phones,
yes they work perfectly. The Hotel Canifor Malta is somewhere you might like to
stay if you want to be near to the coast and stay in comfortable accommodation but
not in the heart of the nightlife. If you do fancy a wild night out then St. Julian’s
is only about ten kilometres away. In common with many other European countries,
the shops here are apt to close for a few hours during the hottest part of the day
and many of them will not be open on a Sunday either.
Enjoying the nightlife
As mentioned above, St. Julian’s is one of the main areas to head for if you
are looking for an exciting night out. In your hotel Malta also offers bar and restaurant
facilities of course, and some of them have discos too but these are usually more
low key than the kind of clubs you will find in St. Julian’s. There are many
nightclubs, bars and English style pubs to choose from in this resort and it is
popular with younger people for this reason. There are open air clubs too, which
get very busy in the summer months and can be great fun. If you are looking for
something a little more sophisticated then Valletta may be the place to head for
with its many wine bars and waterfront restaurants. After your daytime Malta excursions
it may be that you are too worn out to want to go anywhere at night in which case
you can just relax in the comfort of your room and watch some TV or enjoy a few
drinks with your friends. If you are going somewhere that is quite far from your
hotel for the night out then it might be advisable to book a taxi in advance so
that you do not have any problems getting home late at night. It is easy to hire
cars and motorcycles here but obviously if you are planning on drinking then using
them to get back to your room later would not be a good idea.
Luxury Hotels Malta
Being a modern developed country, there are many top class hotels to choose from
and a search on our web site, as mentioned at the beginning of this article, will
show you what is available for the dates that you wish to stay. It will also show
all other types of hotel as well, so you can compare prices and facilities and find
one that is just right for you. As with other European countries you will find that
the best hotels have facilities such as spas, gyms and swimming pools, for your
convenience and enjoyment. If you do not want to haggle with a taxi driver then
for transfers Malta has many options to get you from the airport to your hotel,
and back to the airport at the end of your stay of course. You can book these through
our web site or through the hotel that you choose to stay at – the choice
is yours. Although some people would rather stay in a cheaper hotel and spend their
money on going out more, others enjoy the excellent service and gourmet dining experience
that they can get in a more expensive establishment. The good thing about choosing
superior accommodation here is that hotels in Malta can often work out to be significantly
cheaper than an equivalent one in the United Kingdom. Besides which, if you have
the cash to spend then why not treat yourself as you probably spend most of the
year working hard for your money.
Booking your holiday
As you can see on every page on our site, all you need to do to find out which hotels
have rooms free for the dates you want to travel, is to click on the calendar icons
to the right of the “check in” and check out” boxes near the top
of the page, or simply manually type in the dates yourself. You will then be presented
with a list detailing each hotel Malta has to offer for those dates. From this list
you can click through to view more details and pictures of each hotel and make a
reservation if you wish. It is a simple process using your credit card and we of
course use secure payment facilities to help protect your data. Additionally, unlike
some other sites, there are no extra fees for using your credit card. We are constantly
in touch with all the hotels that appear on our site, in order to try and negotiate
the very best prices that we possibly can for you. You may book your accommodation
and your transfer Malta style as mentioned before or choose to make your own arrangements
if you prefer. It is well worth checking our site regularly as we often have special
offers that can save you a significant amount of money on your holiday. If you have
any questions then you can email our support team at any time and they will get
back to you as soon as they can, to answer your query.
